LIHUE — Employees of Enterprise, Alamo, and National car rentals, combined as Enterprise Holdings, presented the Kauai United Way with a check for $60,658 at Enterprise’s Home City offices.
“This makes them the number one highest employee group givers to the Kauai United Way 2017 Annual Campaign,” said Lynette Medrano-Stine, KUW campaign development director and community liason. “This is the third year in a row that Enterprise rent a car has been the largest employee group giver.”
Led by Shannon Maxwell, Kauai Enterprise Group rental manager, the collective group of car rental employees pledged and hosted fundraising events such as the dunking booth to raise $40,872.
The corporate Enterprise Holdings matched 50 cents to each employee dollar contributed to $19,786 for the total contribution.
“We are tremendously grateful to the management team and associates of EAN car rentals for achieving such a remarkable campaign,” Medrano-Stine said. “Shannon Maxwell, also serving on the KUW board of directors, led the charge in coordinating a magnificent and fun campaign. Through the efforts of such an awesome campaign team, these wonderful people prove that they truly car, and have the very best interest for those in need on Kauai.”
The Enterprise Holdings contribution brings the Kauai United Way 2017 Campaign to more than $575,000, shy of its $650,000.
“Although we finished short of the goal, we finished the campaign with more than we had last year,” said Scott Giarman, KUW executive director. “This means we have a little more to give to the needs of our umbrella of 26 participating agencies that provide social service needs for the island.”
