The Herberts man implicated in attempting to export over a quarter pound of cocaine through FedEx was yesterday granted $20,000 bail by the chief magistrate.
Vivian Anderson Christian appeared before Joanne Walsh, the chief magistrate, where he was told he also needed to deposit $5,000 to secure his release. He was further instructed to present two Antiguan sureties to sign on his behalf to ensure that he would show up to all other court dates associated with this case.
Police charged the 31-year-old with possession of 164.7 grammes of cocaine, possession with intent to transfer, being concerned with the supply of a controlled drug, and attempting to export the drug. Christian was further charged with forgery and uttering.
The complaint against Christian stated that on February 7, he went to FedEx branch located on High Street with a package which he attempted to have shipped to Ontario, Canada.
